Fun Ski Testing

by Joel on Nov.11, 2009, under Ski

I had a couple great skis yesterday. I got to use all four versions (R,HP,SC and the 186) of the Madshus Nanosonic skate ski. The R and HP have the side cut Madshus is best known for. These skis are stable and easy to ski. The R is a great all around ski for beginner to intermediate skiers. The HP is a great ski in ice conditions and ski  works reasonably well across a broad range. The SC was designed for soft condition with a wider mid section then the R and HP. This reduced the side cut and creates a faster feel at the end of an aggressive stroke when climbing. It works well in a broad range of conditions and has become the most popular ski. The 186 is a new ski that we will be one of only 10 dealers in the country receiving. It shares the shape of the SC and the but with a stiffer tip similar the the HP. This is a favorite of Tyson’s. It is and energetic ski that works across a broad range. It has a fast, energetic feel with enough tip pressure to handle great on hard pack corners and technical section.

We strive to match you to the ideal ski by talking about how you ski but nothing provide the kind of information that watching you ski provides. We will soon be offering a fitting service to match the ideal ski to your needs. The fitting service will include a watching you ski, profiling your skills, fitness and ski style to best match you the perfect ski. More on this coming soon.     Joel

Weekend Events

by Joel on Nov.09, 2009, under News, Ski

The Ski Demo at Birch Hill was a success. People got to try the newest equipment from a number of the top companies. The stand out was the Madshus Nanosonic SC skate ski. We talked to many who picked it as their favorite. It is stable, tracks well and has a light fast feel.

Ski Fest had a large turn out with lots of give-a-ways and fun. It is a great event to suppport UAF Skiing, and sign up for the Nordic Ski Club, its programs and races. We had a booth there to talk about the trails we have been working on and got some great feed back. Now it is time to get out and ski.
