Bike Sale

Usually at least once every season Joel goes a little nutty. We try to appease him with chocolate and epic rides, but usually the only remedy is a good blowout sale! So, we have slashed prices on select bikes, this includes a rare slash on select comfort bikes, a whole swag of mountain bikes, a ton of Madone road bikes, Triathlon bikes, and even BMX bikes!!

Lance and Team RadioShack ride for awareness

The customized “I Ride For” stickers are a show of strength and designed to raise awareness of the personal nature of battling cancer. Ester Dome Single Track Map

The Blue loops have were built last summer and are open for riding.
The Red Loop is under construction. The heavy lifting has been contracted out but we need help with finish work. We are looking for help Thursday nights at 6pm. Meet at the trail head. We also need volunteers Mon, Wed, Friday 8:30 till 11:30am. If I am not at the trail head when you arrive give me a call and I will direct you to where we are at, some times I get an early start. 460-1166
We have an opportunity to add 1.6 mile of trail to the original plan but need you financial support to fund the additional mileage. You can make donations through Alaska Trails

Ester Dome Single Track Update. Construction has begun.

The Blade has dropped. Phase Two has begun.
The first phase of the Happy Valley Trail was a great success. We were able to lay in two separate loops last year, one 3 miles and the other a very technical 1/2 mile, and both have gotten rave reviews! These are the blue-colored trails on the above map.
The shorter trail was completely hand built (about 220 hours of work) while the longer loop was carved out by a mini-dozer under the control of Jon Underwood (dba Happy Trails), then partly hand-finished. This hand work was done by 68 individuals who volunteered a total of 683 hours!
Now, as we move into Phase II of the project, we realize that we have enough area and terrain features to increase the miles on the Outer Loop (marked in red) from the initial 5 to an estimated 6.6. To accomplish this though, we need additional funding. We’ve received a second $50,000 State Recreation Trail Program grant and a $5,000 facilities grant from Bikes Belong. But if we want those extra 1 1/2 miles, we are still about $15,000 short. So we need your help in both dollars and volunteer time. If we exceed the $15,000, we’ll use the excess to hire a crew to do the hand-finish work and apply it to other trail projects on Ester Dome.

BMX with my kids

This year I have started going to the BMX track with my kids. Luke is having a blast racing and Nicholas is enjoying riding on practice nights. He will be racing soon as well. I ride and some times race, its a blast.
Every one is welcome and the first night is free.
Practice nights are on Mondays from 6-8 and races Wednesday 6-8. Helmets, long pants and long sleeves are required.
