Fat Bike Slideshow and Discussion with Jeff Oatley

Join us for an evening with Jeff Oatley and a little Fat Bike Mania!

Come and see how Jeff packs for his adventures and races!  He will be riding his bike to the store fully loaded as if he were going on the Iditarod Invitational.

Jeff was the Champion of the 2009 350-mile Iditarod Invitational Bike race, 2nd place finisher in 2010.

This is your chance to see how a pro packs for an unsupported bike race across the toughest conditions in Alaska’s bitter winter! Check out the race website!The race website says “Winning or even finishing in the extremes of Alaskan winter weather depends on how comfortable the racers are with their abilities, level of experience and amount of risk they are willing to take.“ And take a look at the video! And, look out for Jeff in the 2011 race in February!  He is first on the roster, and is in very good company with a very accomplished field of riders, skiers and runners.

Jeff has been racing bikes since he was a kid.  He has extensive knowledge of endurance bike riding and racing, and will have a slideshow of some of his winter racing and adventures.  He will have some great stories to tell about winter biking, and, what a better time to ask for tips on food, camping gear, clothing – but most of all – how do you fit it all on to your bike!

I must say, the nicest thing about Jeff is how humble he is.  I guess it is all that time on the bike gives one perspective on life.  We are looking forward to this great evening.  Tell your friends, and why not ride your fat bikes!!!  We will have some bikes on hand for test-riding.
